Day 5

After another unique breakfast, we decided to see Manilla as our flights were in the evening. Alin did a splendid job of researching the best places to see if you only one day.

Our first stop was the National Museum of Fine Arts of Manila. We spent a few hours meandering the giant halls of this majestic building looking at the art treasures of the Philippine people. Our favorite exhibit was a whole room dedicated to Magellan’s first circumnavigation of the globe.

Our next stop was touring one of the oldest cathedrals in the area. Finally, we visited the Fort of Santiago which is within the old walled city.

By this time, it was three in the afternoon and our bodies were telling us it was time for bed. We headed back to the hotel and we all took a good nap for a bit before packing for the airport.

Now we are sitting at the airport. We’re checked-in for our 9:25 p.m. flight to Port Moresby, which is on time. Our bodies will not stop moving until we lay our heads down in Hauna Village, Lord willing. Please continue to pray for us as we’re not there yet!
