Laszlo Mission League

Note from Marilyn Laszlo, October 2006

Dear Friend,

Thank you for your notes, e-mails, phone calls, prayers, and financial support. I praise God for you. Our nationwide expansion and outreach has been remarkable. The excitement and enthusiasm in these meeting have been phenomenal. I wish you could experience the thrill of seeing the response and the spirit of joy in the lives of the people in every meeting. The power and influence of the Lord's presence was evident. I mentioned in my last letter that I have spoken in every state except Alaska. I need to add Montana to that list. However, the September meeting up in Vancouver, WA, where I spoke to 300 pastor's wives may change that statistic.

I began my talk saying, "What a privilege to be in this beautiful hotel along the Portland River. Thank you for inviting me to be your speaker at this conference. I know that I will be blessed, and I trust you will be also. I would like to ask a favor. I've spoken in every state in the USA except Alaska and Montana, and since many of you are from those states, it would be exciting to be invited to speak in those two states. Soooo, is there a chance of that happening?"

After the meeting several very excited people came up to me giving me invitations to both of those states. So, Evelyn Murrian, my Coordinator, is now working on that. Yippee! Alaska and Montana, here I come. Thank you for your help in keeping me on the road and for your partnership as together we declare the Good News of the Gospel.

September was a very full month, plus it is a very memorable month. It was September 1967 when I was on my way to Papua New Guinea nearly 40 years ago. I went with one small suitcase. Amazing! What a journey that was!

September - I spoke in six different states.

Winnsboro, S.C. Mission Conference - One day - spoke 4 times - 100 people
Sioux Falls, SD Bible League Conference - Two days - spoke 5 times - 280 women
Owatonna, MN Mission Conference - Two days - spoke 5 times - 250 women
Rumney, NH - Women's Retreat - 3 days - spoke 4 times - 150 women
Vancouver, WA Pastor's wives conference - 2 days - spoke 1 time - 300 women
San Antonio, TX Women's Retreat - 4 days - spoke 4 times - 300 women

October - I spoke in 4 different states.

Wausau, WI Women's Conference - 2 days - spoke 5 times - 200 women
Frederickburg, OH Mennonite Christian Assembly - 2 days - spoke 5 times - 300
St. Paul, MI Northwestern College - 2 days - spoke 4 times - 500 students
Los Angeles, CA Westside Vineyard - 2 days - spoke 4 times - 130 women
Los Angeles, CA Hope Chapel - 4 days -spoke 4 times - 200 women and 100 youth

I do need prayer everyday as I stand before many people as an ambassador of Jesus, the only name under Heaven whereby man can be saved. There is no going alone in the Lord's work or in any kind of work for that matter. We need each other. We all have a great potential for God. God has designed each of us with a special role in completing His global plan. This is how we grow. Take a step.

May you enjoy your day, your work, and your family,
Marilyn Laszlo

PS Here is a story

Wild, Crazy, Insane, and Reckless

With three days to spare I got an invitation by my very special friend, Leslie Teague, from Charlotte, NC, to spend those days at her beach house in North Litchfield Beach, South Carolina, before I had to fly off for my meetings. But for the past 5 days there were warnings that hurricane Ernesto was on its way up the coast towards Litchfield and Myrtle Beach. Leslie and I decided to test it out and went for a walk on the beach. WOW! We were nearly blown away. The rain and wind were horizontal and so strong it was stinging our faces with such force that we could hardly keep our eyes open. However, it did not deter us. We found these tubes that you used for shooting off fireworks. We picked them up and used them like microphones, pretending we were reporters giving the weather report on TV. The beach was deserted, but while we were fooling around, laughing and acting crazy, we saw these two people in the distance heading our way with a huge camera. It was ABC news people. They interviewed us and wondered why we were out in this horrible storm. We could hardly hear each other because the waves were huge and pounding the shoreline with incredible force. Well, anyway, we survived, and we were on TV. Next day Barry and Leslie took me out to the golf course for a few lessons in golf. That was very special.
